Our Football Programme
Partnered with Alfreton Town FC, we provide our learners with the opportunity to represent Alfreton Town Academy in the U19 National League, at the Impact Arena. We have three Academy teams based on ability, to ensure all learners have a full weekly games programme.

The Sports Gateway footballing Academy was launched in April 2015. The academy was set up with a very clear objective; to be the best we can be. We soon became the number one choice for young people across the East Midlands wanting to give themselves the best opportunity at fulfilling their footballing potential while achieving a truly high quality sports education.
In August 2016 we expanded and joined forces with Alfreton Town. This exciting partnership gives both aspiring young footballers the best of both worlds, a progression in to both professional and top end non-league football.
Training takes place three days a week, with matches taking place on Wednesday afternoons and some evenings. Across our Academy, we currently offer the following leagues and competitions:

Sports Gateway work in proud partnership with Alfreton Town Football Club.
The result of our current & previous partnerships has seen a number of players trial with many professional football club, as well as many players making the match day 16 for Alfreton Town in the Vanarama National League Pyramid.
Our first class facilities in Hucknall include four 11v11 grass football pitches, state of the art gym, & five classrooms.

Former Derby County, West Brom, Lincoln City & England U21 Defender.
Sessions & matches are lead by former Premier League defender, Matt Carbon & his coaching team. He ensures his sessions are consistently at a high-level, and passes on his knowledge & information from his professional career to all of our Academy players.
Matt has reprsented England U21's alongside David Beckham, Michael Owen & Paul Scholes, and has played in the Premier League with Derby County. His experiences & knowledge is invaluable to our Academy players.
